“… the river is everywhere at once, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the rapids, in the sea, in the mountains, everywhere at once, and that there is only the present time for it, not the shadow of the past, not the shadow of the future.” Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha

Of course I love the picture. I am pretty sure it was taken somewhere near Port Townsend, looking over Puget Sound. I love seeing the mountains and ferry!

Love this quote. That little creeks high up in mountains can be traced to be the original source of contributing headwaters along the way to mighty rivers has always fascinated me.
Header photo has got me wondering:
A reflection of a moonlit cloud upon Hermann Hesse’s river that is everywhere or the reflection of a UFO upon same? Gotta admit that my first thought was the latter!

Afraid it was neither. It was taken down in Big Bend National Park by my son. I couldn’t figure out a way to copy the full picture here so I will email it to you. They have rafting trips through this canyon, which would be so cool.

Sandy, I am loving your daily entries! I am amazed that you are able to find a quote and then a photo that adds to the quote – every day! I got busy, and suddenly i checked in and was four days behind! And that is just reading and studying beautiful words and photos!

Thank you so much. I did it every other year because it is challenging to come up with 365 pictures and quotes but it is fun. I am fortunate that a lot of people have shared pictures with me besides mine. I use Goodreads a lot for my quotes. Sometimes I find a quote almost instantly, other times I’ll spend 30-60 minutes and come up empty handed. So glad to have you on board this year.

Another excellent ocean pic, nice one Sandy 🙂

    • Sandy says:

Well actually it is not the ocean. It is the Straits of Juan de Fuca where Port Townsend is located and the picture taken. But thank you anyway Jesse.
