Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time?” That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains, everywhere and that the present only exists for it, not the shadow of the past nor the shadow of the future. Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha

Waterfall week …. sounds great! Neat quote and picture today. Makes me think of that book from the 70’s by Barry Stevens …. “Don’t Push the River. It Flows By Itself.”

What is it about waterfalls and rivers? So many childhood memories include them from rivulets complete with little waterfalls deep in a smallish ancient forest ravine where the sidewalk truly ended down the long sidewalk (it’s still there) along the lawn below our apartment on Mercer Island to – – – well, don’t get me started – – – except that to this day I still feel so badly about sending my tiny trusting pipe stem devil doll out in a milk bottle cap down the sawdust playground field’s rain storm created river to meet up with me in the little forest just beyond where the river was flowing when I walked home. Yep, to this day I wonder what happened – – – rivulet waterfall?
