But I think a lot of those artists, amateurs though they may have been, had innate gifts or talents which helped them develop a lot.

I have a tendency to believe the same especially when it comes to art, how someone can take a blank slate and turn it into a variety of beautiful portraits has to be at least in part, something innate not necessarily something just anyone can develop. Too bad we cannot draw in our postings otherwise I would draw a picture of a dog which would probably look like a cat and prove my point!

Pick a number and stand in line for my drawings. I believe that some people do seem to have an innate ability when it comes to art. But art comes in many forms, and all too soon people say I can’t do that, I have no ________ ability even though they have never tried or tried once. I think it is too easy to say, I don’t have an innate ability to do this so I wouldn’t even try. I guess one of my frustrations is I have creative ideas, but I had a very hard time carrying out my ideas. And a blank piece of paper can be overwhelming!
