Water, water, water….There is no shortage of water in the desert but exactly the right amount , a perfect ratio of water to rock, water to sand, insuring that wide free open, generous spacing among plants and animals, homes and towns and cities, which makes the arid West so different from any other part of the nation. There is no lack of water here unless you try to establish a city where no city should be. Edward Abbey

God bless Edward Abbey ~ ~ ~ I just read about him in Wikipedia where writer Larry McMurtry referred to him as the “Thoreau of the American West” – – – thank you Sandy, for yet another wonderful AND synchronistic quote!! Having read The Worst Hard Time (National Book Award winner) not too long ago (synchronistically right after Empire of the Summer Moon) it is the story of the those who survived The Great American Dust Bowl and what caused it – – – your Edward Abbey entry today says it all ~ ~ ~

Edward Abbey is an author my Dad really likes and Bill took this picture who is their neighbor. Mom and Dad have a different angle view of Cathedral Mountain (mountain in background) so nice to see it from this angle. I think the founders of Las Vegas could have taken note of this quote, 🙂
